ABOUT ME
Fernando Cavalheiro is a videographer, production assistant, assistant director, and film photographer specializing in street and landscape photography. Born in southern Brazil and now based in Orlando, Florida, he graduated in Film from Full Sail University and has been steadily building his career in the audiovisual field.
As a crew member, Fernando has gained hands-on experience on both professional sets and independent productions. He worked as a local PA for the 10th season of the TV series Bar Rescue and for the independent feature film Pickleballers directed by Bryan Bishop. Expanding into assistant directing, he served as AD on short films such as I See Rose by Sarah Ricks and Onryo by Gabriel Johnson, the latter of which has garnered nearly 5,000 views online.
He has collaborated with a range of companies in both Brazil and the United States. In Brazil, his work included projects with DFP Arquitetura, Faculdade Uníntese, Brooklyn Soul Barber, and PG Biomédica Esteta. In the United States, he partnered with Shure Inc., Taco Maker, Holoscape LED, Marcelo Painting, SMPL Systems, and Auto Body Mania, developing a versatile portfolio that spans multiple industries.
Fernando has also worked alongside artists such as Antonio Thornton, Kuya!, Ren.y.c., and Jacob Green. One of his standout achievements was directing and editing the music video Drunk Text for Nattaornothing (Ren.y.c) featuring Jacob Green, which surpassed 117,000 views on YouTube.
His films have been recognized on the festival circuit. Looking For A Job was officially selected at the TFC International Film Festival and the First-Time Filmmaker Sessions, and went on to win Best Foreign Short Film at the 2024 Bettiah International Film Festival. His most recent project, The Breakup, has also been officially selected at the First-Time Filmmaker Sessions. Earlier in his career, in 2018, his short Conexão Virtual earned both “Melhor Júri Popular” and “Melhor Curta-Metragem Estudantil” at the Clube Gaúcho de Santo Ângelo Film Festival in Brazil.
Beyond film, Fernando has built a passion for photography. What began as a hobby in 2024 with street and landscape photography has now expanded into portrait work. He offers sessions for local models and artists, bringing a film inspired retro aesthetic to his images that blends his eye for cinematic storytelling with still photography.
Across every project, whether on set or behind the camera, Fernando is committed to creating authentic, visually striking, and emotionally resonant stories that reflect his passion for cinema and photography.
